We’re behind at updating our blog and we feel bad about it. It’s been a bit busy around the Studio. Okay, an maybe the Skagit Valley at the end of April. Here’s a few pictures of our trip to the tulip fields and the lovely town of La Conner. Hope you enjoy.

Now, with the housekeeping out-of-the-way, we’re madly making some new swag for the store. There are some plans for things to be posted here, free for download. We’re all very excited.

Spring

Just a little tease of the papers we’re working on. I’m hoping to get them posted to Etsy as soon as possible but time hasn’t been very kind this week. Fighting colds and the like has taken away from time at the computer to finish them up. Hang in there, it’s coming!

Spring hasn’t showed yet

I love spring. It’s probably my favorite season for one simple reason. I love fresh colors as the trees bud, the blossoms explode everywhere. Cherry blossoms are my favorite spring flower. While they’re here for a short time, they are beautiful. The soft pink and white is delicate and sweet. I can’t wait.

So far, at least here in Seattle, the weather has been less than helpful. I know it’s early. It’s only March. I see the Crocus blooming and I know the Tulips up in the Skagit Valley are around the corner, but I’m really waiting for the cherry blossoms.

In the meanwhile, it’s nose to the grindstone. Easter papers, add-on packs and tags are all sitting on my desktop to get posted to our Etsy site. Cheers!

Winter Wonderland? Umm, maybe.

In case you didn’t see the news, the Seattle area was visited by a winter storm. When it snows here, people drop what they’re doing and leave. It’s really weird to watch. I’m from a part of the state where snow in the winter is part of the season. Here in Seattle, it’s nearly the end of everything and rightly so. Seattle is built on hills and very steep ones in places. It’s also mild in the winter. When we get snow, the ground isn’t frozen enough so we get ice first then snow. It creates a huge mess.

For this particular snow event, the region saw anything from 2 inches to 20. Average snow fall is 6 and it doesn’t come all at once, nor does it last for more than a day or two. Today is day three. Three days of cold, snowy bliss. But reality is coming. Tomorrow we’re under a winter warning for rain. Lots of rain. 1 to 3 inches. We had the freezing rain today, which was very unpleasant for the few people that didn’t skip work.

Can’t wait for spring. I like spring here which starts at the end of February. Usually anyways.

Today we posted our latest creation to Esty.com. Inspired by some luggage tags we found in an old book my grandmother had in a steamer truck in the basement, these tags are perfect for any scrapbooking projects you might have.

Smells of the season

Today at the grocery store I noticed a display of cedar wreaths from a local artist up near Snohomish, WA. The smell was so fresh and amazing we had to stop and see everything they had to offer. His work was amazing. It gave me an idea for same pages I had been wondering how I would create. It was the perfect thing.

We’re proud to announce our latest offering for the holiday season! The first in our series of vintage colors for Christmas.

We drew our inspiration from our family ornaments handed down through three generations. Each season we drag out all our decorations and decide which of our two Christmas trees will be decked out with the traditional or the modern. This year, our main tree gets the traditional! We hope you enjoy!
